Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

Snow Running
Running along the roads by Duncan on Fri I could feel the chocolate truffles and brownies bouncing along on my thighs making the going seem even tougher as I was running up the road by Vimy recreation hall dodging the oncoming traffic as they tried to splash me as I was running along the snow banks by the road. Coming to the end of Menzie by Sathlam I decided to run along the trail which still had a couple of inches of snow on it Running along the trail you find out that it is harder running in the travelled trail where you end up slipping and sliding I ended up running in the unmarked snow and didn't push off with the front of my feet this pushing back made me slip and slide so I ended up lifting my legs with my quads as i was running this made it a lot better and easier and I was bouncing along at a good clip and gave me a good work out. Running along the trails the last couple of days everything has turned into a winter wonderland, giving you a sense of running on uncharted trails were no one has been, as you run through freshly fallen snow. It also forces a slower pace, which is is good if you are recovering from injury. Once the snow has been stepped on it becomes slippery, and frozen footprints make the running even more unpredictable. Snow hides objects and by going slower it can cause muscle fatigue, as well as the risk of injury, Running in the snow also requires more of a trail running shoe that has a better traction,a road running shoe is made for a harder surface, So even though running in the snow is nice for a chance. it wears of fast seeing its harder too run along side the road or on the routes that you usually run on. Run Safe , Take shorter strides in the snow.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
