Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

My training
Starting this past Monday night I have started to up my training preparing my self for the perseverance trail race in Cumberland a 10.5 k.m race over mt bike trails and a few hills thrown in . While Gail was doing spin classes at the Ladysmith sport centre I was doing a half hour on the elliptical machine , This is a workout machine were you stand on and you can program it for different levels of moving your feet and it also gives you a arm workout by moving your arm in a running or walking motion when your workout gets to hard for your legs you use you re arms to push the levers which are in sync with the foot petals so It didn't take me long to work up a sweat and when the half hour was up I went on the tread mill which seemed to be easier .On the treadmill it seemed i had less leg resistance and was able to have an faster turn over and a bigger stride plus on the tread mill you try to keep up to a machine that you can speed up or slow down. while on the elliptical you seemed to have to push yourself harder On tuesday morning I went for my run earlier then usually and headed out for Blaineys crossing were i did a loop to turn back on Chemainus rd heading for Gage rd and went up and down the hill a couple of times before continuing through stocking creek park to do an couple of loops on the hills on that side of the park then to Olson rd and to school rd to end up in Saltair to finish my run,

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
