Phil 's Half

On saterday Gail and me were on our bikes again heading towards Skutz falls, beautifull trail and scenery Can you imagine yourself running in a Half marathon with over 6 thousand finishers well Phil Howard from the Ladysmith Striders finist the Robin hood Half marathon in England. Sunday morning with a chip time of 1.48.6 coming in just over 1168 out of 6143 finishers that with the narrow trails and corners they had to maneuver trough is amazing, Way to go Phil. -- This morning I was enjoying the fog and drizzle that seemed to have engulfed us as we were running Mt tzouhalem going straight up starting at the water tower on top of the Properties subdivision, Linda Jamie and myself were of on our run which started with a steady hike up the trail, finding our way trough the fog not noticing the drizzle as we became part of the landscape steady inching our way up towards the field of dreams which when it is sunny has a beautiful view of Genoa bay, Saltspring and the Olympic mt range in the states. We continued our run through this part It had a few drops and single track which is also used by Mt bikers we found our way coming out above the cross which is on the Cowichan bay side of the mtn and going along the cliff tail we headed lower heading down towards providence farm; getting lower on the mt Linda made a right turn and off we went heading the proper way towards the parking lot. Going down hill never seems to take that long although we did have to watch our footing on the wet rocks and roots

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
