Yellow Knife

The weather has been beautiful here and have already made some running trips and been busy mountain biking on the trails around Y.K and just enjoying ourselves with our busy hosts We have had my Gps in steady use and i haven't even gotten lost. Although i did forget the connection to hook my camera to the computer so no pictures till I get back. We managed to capture a picture of a huge fish being netted at Jackfish Lake. It was a Northern Pike and the proud fisherman was an Englishman who had only caught one other fish in his life! Today, we went on a trek to see if we could see any bison. We drove forever and saw no bison, met an Inuit fellow who assured us that we were probably the only people to miss out, gee thanks! We did some some enormous flies and bugs- I will not complain about coast mosquitoes ever again!saw the shy and elusive sand hill crane with their beautiful soft brown plumage , these birds mate for live . we traveled. some 150 k.m up hwy 3 and although the scenery wasn't to bad the colors was different then on the island with the rock bluffs being a pinkies color and the road the same with lots of sparkles made from the mica in the gravel-and every k.m or so a sign saying bump ahead and the road would drop a couple of< feet were the perma frost had given way so if you went to fast you were air born the speed limit on the hwy is 100km so every goes 120 at least Gass is 1.16 a litre the area we traveled through had a big fire go through it a couple of years ago and all the little trees will take forever to get going again

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
