The Gutbuster started on the bottom of Shelbourn and once we crossed the road it was a steady climb on an trail that was steep rocky and sandy a trail with a canopy of trees that kept us covered and away from the sun, with beautiful views over looking Saanich and Victoria

Running with Judie for the first 3 k.m she mentioned that I could lead the way and that she would follow, the place she mentioned was a steep down hill taking us through sandy stretches were you had to pull your feet out of the sand and the next moment you would be jumping from one rock to the next and the you would be twisting around a not so smooth of a trail, so it didn't take long to get ahead of Jude

we also ran along a hard packed dirt trail and running by myself I picked up some time noticing that the training I had been doing with Ron and Sharon paid off here, this hard packed trail was well travelled and was nice to run on , Some of the trail markings had been torn down and other runners didnt see any markers so you had to keep your eyes peeled for trail signs , seeing I ran the race different I managed to pick up a spot and placed second in my age group. It seems Linda was the lucky person and went home with a draw price and a bag of Saltsping Island coffee and came first in her age group.so three cheers to al that ran the race

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
