MT Tzouhelum

Got up early, for a Saturday that is I headed for duncan to go to the little church parking lot by providence farm there I met some fellow runners whom Sharon C . had contacted to go for a run up Mt tzouhelem every one of us saying that we hadnt done much running lately. This was to be proven wrong in a while , after parking our cars and doing some warm up stretches we headed up the Mt with Ron C. leading the way the first part was an old road with a few pot holes or half the road missing , this was the easy part. just ahead of us the road split into two with one going straight up and yes you guessed it that is the one we took. it was se-posed to be the fast way to the cross on top of the Mt Tzouhelum, After running along the steep trail we made a right turn on a narrow trail nearer to the edge this is a rocky trail with its up and downs and having to climb between a crevice of two huge rocks laying side by side to get to the next level and you have to adjust from running to climbing and pulling your selves up the rocky trail coming out just below the cross and the beautiful few of cowichan bay and the estuary below us , this climb took us over some shaley rocks and steep runs and after taking a breather at the top we continued to run the Field of dreams, which is a mt bike trail around the top of the mt with some drops and hills but mainly flat to what we had been doing , It was a good thing Sharon came along seeing she nose the trail system blind folded and managed to take us through some challenging trails and get us back to our vehicles in one piece. this was an enjoyable run and we all managed to stay together which we wouldn't been able to do if we hadnt done some running and training, RUN HARD-- TRAIN SMART

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
