This morning I went with Linda Judy and Jamie for our run leaving Safeway parking lot and headed for holland creek trail, we started walking and it didnt take us long to get into a rhythm for running and off we went folowing the trail to the end going to the bridge so that the dogs that we had taken along could drink some water not knowing if there was any water along the trail, then we headed up the hill heading towards Heart Lake trail, going up the trail to heart lake, we didnt seem to have any trouble with the hill and we ran walked and pulled our way manuevering the twisting trail and steep incline in just over 20 minutes so we worked up a good sweat seeing it was quite humid, we ran the south side of heart lake and at the end made a left turn taking us to stocking lake trail system, getting to the head of the lake you go over an overgrown logging road this is much better then running on the road and the ground was covered in fir needles and dirt which made it bouncy to run on, it wasnt like this all the way we had some rough terrain to cover. at the head of stocking lake we ran along a nice single trail which kind of hugged the shore line of the lake, here we encountered many trees which had been blown down but had been cut so that you could run through them instead of trying to climb over the trees , coming in the open again we followed the trail past heart lake and to the chicken ladder here we also made good time seeing the trail goes straight down I was the only one to do a face plant by stumbling over a rock or branch that had been placed there to trip me. no injuries so after shaking off the dust the run continued and we made it to the coffee shop for a cool down by 11 am , we all enjoyed our run hoping it would get us ready for the gutbuster race at Royal Roads next week. Run Smart.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
