I think these Gutbuster races are just great , although the name sounds menacing , if you take your time and enjoy the scenery, you shouldn't have any trouble at all, Linda , Jaime , Judie and my self started at the back of the back, and the back it was, when the countdown started and the front runners started we were able to watch them head down the hill By Royal Roads Gym , and slowly we got going first at a walk and then we started to roll along going along a gravel road , at the bottom we made a right turn over a small grassy field and it didn't take long for the course marshals to direct us for an other turn this time she pointed to a small-trail which led us to an up hill section, and every one turned it down a gear and we where all walking because in front of us there was a wall , which we had to go up and over , the trail took us straight up and by the time Jude and I got there the ground was getting loose and you took a step forward and slid a half a step backwards, It was only me and judy running by this time we lost Linda and Jamie back along the trail, Running through the campus ground makes you realize how spread out it is and a real treasure of Valleys, hills and little fields and lots of trees , and I imagine you could wander around there for a couple of days and not be seen they had us sigging and sagging with their network of trails-and we ran from one end of the campus to the other end and back again and seemed to take us over most of the difficult trails, Some of these course marshals cant be runners because by most of the marshaling areas they told us that we didn't have far to go and that the rest of the way was flat , Okay ladies you try running something that you say is flat but seems to lead you to an uphill section that doesn't seem to be flat at all, The course was great and Im sure it challenged even the elite runners, Its hard to race going up-90 degree hills and not to be breathing hard getting to the top, The difference I found this race is that I seemed to have more time to see where I was going and didn't have to hold on to trees or salal as I was sliding down hills. I find just like mountain biking when you go fast you seem to roll over everything better and with your momentum that you have pushing I seem to be able to go over trees or rocks laying on the ground better, Run Smart-- Run Safe.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
