Been busy pulling the English Ive away from my Rhodes put managed to put my running gear on this afternoon for a run to Chemainus I managed to run down Malcolm rd to do the stairs again and to continue to Cook street , Daniel str Cedar street and back to Chemainus hwy and on to Old Victoria to head back to Saltair. It was still a bit nippy out today and for awhile it looked like we would be getting snow, but by afternoon the weather had turned warm again and I was able to shed some weight. not by wearing less running gear. But from the belated birthday cake that I had consumed yesterday. Going for a relaxed run and not pushing myself by going to fast, although malcom str gave me a bit of trouble by doing the stairs ;and going back on Malcom to get back on Chemainus road, the stairs I slowed going down and on the way up I found that even though the steps weren't that high I did do some of them one at a time and others two steps at a time, it all depended on how winded i felt, the rest of the run went great I ques you could call it undulating, flat and inclines put by pacing myself it worked out fine. Run Smart -- Run relaxed.

  1. Hi Simon... There is a run of stairs on what was once Sperling Street by Deer Lake Park in Burnaby... there's 81... and I counted them again yesterday with my grunt up to attain some height. My run this morning... which took me around Deer Lake is a favourite route that use when running out of my office on Norland Avenue. Run safe... and watch for those howling quads on the Clarks' Beach stairs.

  2. It seems that no matter how long or how short the stairs are it always gives you a good workout and then the challenge to get to the top without stopping for a breather.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
