Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

Cowichan River trail
I guess I could have went with the running group for a coffee after our morning run , We didnt leave till later with the bikes on the back of the car and headed for Tansor and Satlam parking lot , to park the car and to go for a bike ride going west on the trans Canada trail towards Skutz Falls , getting to skutz falls road we had an couple of k.m to go down to the river, I'm getting ahead off myself, while biking on the trans Canada trail we had to stop and slow down a couple of times. It seemed that at quiet a few spots you had a migration route of tiny frogs hopping across the trail they weren't much bigger than a dime and at first glance you thought that they were spiders and it was neet to watch them wiggle across the trail, Biking along Skutz falls road Iwas thinking that to get back would be a long haul the road was steep going down and biking back on this road to the trail we had a couple of mean hills to bike up. reaching the falls we decided to follow the Cowichan River trail back our you can bike to Mayo road and go back on the trans Canada trail to Duncan , that way you don't have to cross the river , I dont know what Mayo road is like, But it is easier to go back to Duncan staying on the north side of the river which we found out , Gail and I continued our biking along the Cowichan river trail and crossed a few trestle's I think we crossed the river just past Mayo rd by mile 66 rail road trestle and continued east along the old abandoned Canadian national railway bed, this trail has more scenery to look at and you can spot the river at different locations. This trail is rougher trail with a few muddie spots I had to be on the lookout for stinging nettles they seemed to lean over the trail and at times it was hard to miss them as you went past them on your bike , I'm also sure that the Saltair rate payers group would have an field day here seeing the hog weed along this trail is growing full steam ahead, In Saltair they go in a tizzy if they see one little leaf growing out of the ground, different spot , different rules. We ended the trail at Vaux rd and Indian road, Here biking became bearable again,I don't know how many I manoeuvred myself around the bike seat to find a comfortable place to sit, So far no luck and I havent found the perfect way yet although biking down Indian road to Duncan went full blast .Pavement and down hill to Duncan, Till we got to Government street were we had to gear down to get up the hill and past Gibbons road were we ended up with the trans Canada trail and the last stretch with only one more hill and creek crossing to get us back to tansor road and the parking lot , Man was I ever glad to see that car.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
