Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

Bare foot running.
I was sent an article from my daughter about barefoot running-it was out of http://www.breathemag.ca/ /" But I'm not quit ready for the bare footed method ,I can barely make it to the road without shoes, it says you shorten your stride when running this way, landing mid foot and pushing of with the ball of the foot, Once you get used to running bare footed and you pick up your cadence and by picking up your speed you extend your stride would you be prone to more injuries. As long as they ran bare footed on golf courses I might think about it , The calluses on the bottom of my feet would have to be a couple of inches thick so that when I run on pavement the first time i stub my toes on something I wont jump a mile high our holler some obscene name , they suggest that you start by walking around the house , getting the mail our taking the dog for a walk to start your bare foot training.Once your used to that try running on a soft surface like a sandy beach or a sports field slowly building up your mileage and if you feel any pain stop, your calves will probably hurt the first few times and then the bottom of your feet will take a bit of time before you won't feel the rocks or the black Berrie bushes that you step on, I know I would curse if I ran into some prickly bush or branch laying on the trail, Ok now you tell me, they wear minimalistic footwear that copy barefoot running but it protects the feet.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
