Cowichan River Trail

This little plant "Indan pipe" has nice flowers and is usually a grey colour Some of the hills are steep as you can see. Deciding which way to go, Railway trail or river trail
Looking down the first crossing to river far below us
Jamie pointing to sign, telling you to keep your dog leased, when your in the outdoors, dream on .
One of the many board walks we crossed
Crossing over creek made 1936 Gail and I were up early and on our way before we even finished our coffee , having loaded Gails bike in the back of the car and making sure we had enough water to take along were on the way to the cowichan river trail by the the cowichan fish and game club past clenora at the end of Vaux rd here they have parking , picnic are and play ground for kids Gail and Karen rode their bike to Skutz falls a 30 km bike ride , while Linda and Jamie and myself went and ran along the Cowichan foot path and Trans Canada trail . The trail along the river is quite challenging and you run along views of the river and the forest there are stairs and board walks along the trail. I seemed to have followed Jamie to close a few times and those few times I did a couple of face plants and found myself looking at the trail and roots from close, so the lesson in this is that you don't follow the person in front of you to close or else you cant see the trail that your running on. Linda kept us going at a good clip even when we were walking she kept us busy and at a fast pace we returned to the parking lot to find Karen and Gail busy chatting having returned from their ride before us we covered 20 km of hiking and trail running and had a good time.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
