Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

Been a busy week of running and just doing nothing , the weather hasn't helped any its been just plane hot here on the island, but our ladysmith group of strider's has been out running and this morning we had a new runner joining our group, doing our run this morning part of the group did a short run and some of the runners training for a half marathon did a longer loop running sixteen k.m doing the first 8 k.m in 5.26 k.m and the run back a bit faster but still keeping the pace around 5 min per k.m for the run. Surprised to see Bruce running passed seacloud road only to be told that he is training for a longer run a half maybe a full marathon. This morning the sun was still behind the trees and when we ran in the open the sun would make us go a bit faster to get to the shaded part of the road,During coffee it was also decided to have our summer get together at Ballas house for a potluck dinner, Bala will do his specialty Currie dish and every one else their special dish { So Bon Appetit} for the evening of the 28 th. In the after noon went to Saltair park for Saltair 100 birthday bash. lots of old pictures of early days of the folk that lived here and the classes that were attended by people that lived here, To see all the old faces of the people that were young not that long ago.A good day for it and the umbrellas and sun hats were out in full force------ Make sure when its hot and you go for a run, that you drink plenty of fluids , P.S -- my friend mtn runner went on a kyaking trip to the broken isl, and he is never far from his blackberry , so im wondering does he have solar power on his kayak? P.S#2 It doesn’t matter whether you are running a 8, 9, 10, or 11 minute pace. You are still working you butt off to achieve your goal.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
