Rough Trail to get to Stanton peak On friday I spent my time Geo caching up by hearth Lake and Stanton Peak from which you have a beautiful view of all the islands and the mainland Im finding out that the mosquitoes arent as veracious as Yellowknife bugs ,Wandering through the underbrush and logged of terrain from hearth lake to stanton peak reminded me of the time Gail and I bushwhacked our way through the area with an adventure race a few years back, I had about four Geo caches on my list and found three Geo cache box tanton peak so Ill have to do some more wandering to find the one I couldn't find and one that Had been thrashed by some one. With the wild berries ripening up the mountains there are lots of bear signs and I was fortunately traveling during the hottest part of the day so every one was in the shade-and sleeping found an old washed out trail on the way back so didn't have to take the hearth lake or stocking Lake trail down the mt.But did have to watch my footing seeing I had to be home by five. Once home we went to Brecken Point in Nanaimo there a group of twelve people met and we split up in two groups to take our two six-man outrigger canoes to paddle around-Protection and Newcastle Islands, If you havent paddled for a while its a great work out and even if your in shape its lots of work, it felt good to dig your paddle in the water , to feel the spray and wind as you plow your way through the waves with some of the going over the sides, good thing the water is warm so you didnt mind the waves and spray coming around Protection we ran into some heavy waves and our skip had us paddling on one side so that we were leaning into the amah, I guess she thought the amah would fly out the water and tip the boat once around the point it was smooth paddling and it-seemed the current was pushing us toward brecken Point, we spent a couple of hours on the water and had a good time.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
