Cinnamombun Run

Sunday morning greeted us early and hustling to Ladysmith community centre I was greeted by John, Bruce and Kim the key players in the successful Cinnamon bun run, who seemed to have spent most of Sat night at the Gym setting things up like the tables and chairs ,only to get there Sunday morning before anyone else once again organizing and delegating everyone to their respective stations for the the start of the run, The first people arrived well before the start of the run with the entry fee five non perishable things for the food bank and it didn't take long for the tables to get filled to supply the food bank with many truckloads of food. After opening speeches and doing some warm up exercises the runners were waiting for e few stragglers to show up so the run could start the run consisted of a 5km loop or you could walk the 5km circuit and if you felt fit or had lot of energy you could run two 5 km loops having to guess at you estimated finishing time,,going over the coarse I found many of the walkers enjoying themselves, and some of the runners getting red in the face conquering the hills that seemed to have appeared along the course although at the finish they all had big smiles of having done the race at a faster pace then they thought wold be possible. Getting in the gym they were greeted by the smell of warm chocolate and fresh baked Cinnamon buns.Three cheers for Kim, Bruce and John who did an tremendous amount of work on the computer and all the volunteers from the Ladysmith Striders who made this another successful run.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
