from Gail

Boy is it hot! 97 degrees in Duncan on Monday afternoon. Yesterday we visited our son and family in North Vancouver. we sat for 21/2 hours in the ferry line-up in the morning. I guess reduced fares do work to improve ridership on mid week trips! We had to make a reservation for return trip. Riley is now training wheels free! He is very proud of this and we would have seen him ride except we were sitting on the tarmac in Nanaimo. He is attending bike camp. To cool off we all went to Deep Cove for the afternoon. It is very similar to Maple Bay. Riley and Grampa had a great time looking for crabs and having leaf races in the creek. We took along a gold? laced rock that Kristal found at one of the mines. Riley was thrilled and has it in a special place. Graham brought him a collection of rocks from the West Coast Trail and he keeps them in a special box and loves to take them out and look at them. He is quite the collector! This morning, I was up early to make up for skipping out on watering my precious plants. We had another garden surprise when I spotted a new sprout at the base of my winter killed evergreen clematis! This is the second to miraculously come back after a long hiatus! Yeah! Long hot weekend ahead, fireworks and everything, should be a good time!

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
