Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

MY first long run.
After having a couple of days off of running last week I ran with the Sunday morning group from Cornation sq and ran an 13 k.m out and back course along Chemainus rd to Sea Cloud rd and back. So today , Monday i told Gail I would run to Duncan from Saltair seeing she would be in duncan and I would be able to get a ride back home again. It wasnt the greatest day to try a long run seeing it was the first one I have done for some time and it being cloudy with a sprinkle of rain, although the rain was a bit off a welcome I new that i wouldn't get too hot maybe a bit cold when i got tired at the end off my run but i would have to tell myself to keep those feet moving underneath me or else I would get chilled. The first ten k.m took me to the the bridge past bald eagle camp site and this stretch wasn't bad as it took me just under an hour to get to the red rooster road cut off this part was the easy part of my run as the road wasn't bad and the logging trucks going to croften were few, so I kinda had the whole road to myself which was good no spray and dirt shooting up from the traffic which I would have gotten if I had run along the main hwy. Once past the red rooster cut I continued my run on the old Island hwy here I met my first challenge in the form of a hill which I started with a slow Short pace and getting closer to the top it got to steep and i ended in a walk once on the top the going down hill was good, running past Richard trail and getting to Bell Mckinnon I chose to run along Mckinnon Rd knowing I had a couple of steep hills to run Not wanting to run the hwy or somenoys rd the latter would have been longer and I dont think I would have been able to do the extra miles. So that left me Bell Mckinon, the down hills went perfect and the steep uphills went great also seeing I ended up walking them knowing that if I tried to shuffle up them Iwould be drained out of energy pretty fast so it was a great relief to get past Herd rd and to the car dealership by the Forest ry Museum . Here a bit of Fatigued started and I was glad that I didnt have much further to go , so whats an other couple of miles, crossing the main hwy by the museum I started running again although by this time it wasnt full speed ahead and getting to the round about by Sherman road I followed Canada ave in duncan till the Coop gass bar and a bit past that, there are stairs that took me up to Cairnsmore Str and from there to cliff road were I had A ride waiting to take me home. For me this was a long run But with all the different kind of running I have been doing from trail running to just running along the road I didnt get into any problems although I did run out of energy once I reached Duncan, But youre never beaten till you admit it--- Run Smart Train Right..

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
