Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to talk about the running and hiking that I do and just ramble along about the things I enjoy.. Nothing’s impossible, I have found -- For when my chin is on the ground ----- I pick myself up, dust myself off, And start all over again—

Shoe Laces
driving to Duncan today I wonder whether I should go for a run or not, The weather was on my side with a slow but sure drizzle falling on the ground, stopping the car on Cliff rd in Duncan, Gail going to exercise and me sitting in the car, watching the rain and tying my running shoes for running in wet weather, yes there is even a trick to tying your shoe laces proper so that they don't come undone when running Some times I place a double knot in the laces and then tuck the remainder of the laces under neath the laces and above the tung of the shoe so that they cant get caught on things and when wet they swell and work loose from the knot, you don't want your shoes to become loose .The first part of the run seemed like I was doing the Bala shuffle by dragging my right foot over the ground . I usually do this if I get tired by not concentrating on lifting my quads and legs a bit higher , maybe it was from biking yesterday. After a k.m I had it all sorted out and was well on my way along Gibson rd to Old Lake cowichan rd to Berky's corner and back to Duncan The run went great and I spent some time on concentrating on when I push of with my foot. When I roll my feet forward and the Ball of my feet and toes are the only thing left on the ground I start to push of . This push forward and lifting with the quad with the leading leg gives me more of a forward push and I'm able to take a longer stride,---- After a few hours rest and a bunch of jelly beans so all energized by sugar I'm of once more for a relaxed run to Frank Jameson sport plex in Lady smith, from there I was able to hitch a ride back home with Gail.-----Train Hard-- Run Smart not necessarily hard.

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
