Trail running

The last couple of days I have been doing a bit of trail running, Trying to up my mileage  and getting out of running along the road and into the fresh air, Yesterday I ran to Holland creek and ran the trail to the power lines and followed the power line to south wats road and back home , This went okay but always looking for rocks jutting out of the trail, Wednesday an other nice day for a run, but this time I had a hard time deciding what to wear, so I decided to wear a micro fibre stay dry shirt with an Polyester shirt over top . Some thing I dont usually do is take water with me, so this time I did seeing I was going a bit further. Going to the back of our place I crossed stocking creek park coming to the hwy by St watts road I run following the road it turns into a logging road and the climbing begins you start with a gradual incline which turns into a steep hill when you getting to the top it levels of and coming to a T in the road i turn right towards  Stocking Lake there is a bit of snow here but the main track is clear so this makes the running a bit easier, But the climbing is making me go slower and slower I ended up walking a few times Its quit up here and all you hear is the water running along the roadway and every once in awhile a eagle soars around [ I dont know does he no something I dont??]. I stop at the place were I lost my good eye classes a few years back as I was bush whacking up here a branch snatched the classes from my face and I dont know where they ended up,Coming to the cut of to stocking Lake the running is easier and the snow has completely disappeared, this trail is a short run to Stocking lake and the trail is relative good , Coming to the lake its all frozen but the trail around the far side of the lake is clear of snow  although it was a bit dark running through the trail it wasnt bad as long as you took your time in picking your trail having to go around and over fallen trees that hadnt been cleaned up yet a few water streams you had to get over and coming out by the top of Hearth lake a little bit of snow But once past the Lake it was clear again and Im heading towards the chicken Ladder this time keeping my eyes open making sure I stick to the right trail Going down the chicken ladder still no snow that is till I get to the bottom and running along Holland creek there is still a couple of inches of snow and not running in the ruts  they were icy and slippery, I ran on the frozen snow just like running on packed sand it was kinda nice because the ground was soft Running along the power line road towards Batie Drive and Chemainus rd to Saltair this is a  18 k.m circuit , and to do it without stopping will require some more hill training , as long as the weather stays dry this would be a good work out with all your hill workout at the beginning and undulating after that, Its a rough trail on top of the mountain and you have to watch were you  run. Run Safe..

In running, it doesnt matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say,I have finished; There is a lot of satisfaction in having accomplished that goal, its a great feeling. Runnertwo
